From 3D Printing to the Track: Supporting Camber Racing’s Intake System

A race car is never the work of one idea alone. It takes a team of engineers, countless design decisions and components that help turn a concept into a car ready for the track.

Amuse 3D was proud to support Camber Racing with the manufacture of a 3D-printed intake system for their car. We provided the component free of cost, and Camber Racing has shared that this support played an important role in the car’s development and performance.

Turning an engineering idea into a functional part

An intake system is an important part of a vehicle’s design. For a racing team, developing a component means bringing together design intent, packaging and the needs of the vehicle as a whole. 3D printing gives engineers another way to produce complex parts and move their designs toward physical evaluation.

For this project, our team manufactured Camber Racing’s intake system using 3D printing. The goal was simple: help the team move its design forward with a component made for its car.

Why vapour smoothing matters

After printing, the intake system received vapour smoothing as a post-processing step. Vapour smoothing can create a more even surface finish on compatible 3D-printed parts, helping refine the appearance and feel of the component.

Post-processing is an important part of producing a finished 3D-printed part. The right finishing route depends on the material, geometry, intended use and finish requirements. Considering these factors early helps teams plan not only how a part will be printed, but how it will be finished and used.

Supporting the people who build what’s next

At Amuse 3D, we believe advanced manufacturing can help ambitious engineering teams bring ideas into the real world. Supporting Camber Racing was an opportunity to contribute our manufacturing capabilities to a team working through the challenges of developing its car.

We’re grateful to Camber Racing for trusting us with the project and for recognising our contribution. Their appreciation is a reminder that manufacturing partnerships can make a meaningful difference at every stage of product development.

We look forward to seeing the team’s work continue to take shape—and to supporting more engineers as they turn bold designs into real components.
